Getting stakeholder buy-in

For any partnership to really work out, stakeholder management is of the utmost importance. It's not a very difficult task if you're able to show them how this helps in the business and solves for a business objective.

Here are the questions you need to answer while making a pitch to your stakeholders:

  1. Does your ICP want this partnership?
  2. What are the risks and how can you mitigate them?
  3. Has this kind of partnership been tried before? If yes, what worked there? If not, how do you define success?
  4. What kind of impact does this partnership has?
  5. Does this partnership also help other teams like product, sales, marketing etc? Helping could mean closing more sales, reaching a wider audience etc

How to structure your pitch?

Once you've thought through the questions, think about how would you pitch this partnership?

  1. Talk about how does this impact the north star metric
  2. Talk about how does this impact the user
  3. Talk about the ask and context from various other teams
